Jose Aldo is a -190 favorite at Sportsbook as he battles Canadian Aiemann Zahabi (+160 underdog) on the main card at UFC 315 in Montreal, Quebec on May 10.
The Aldo vs Zahabi odds have stayed consistent heading into fight week, and I believe the line is quite fair. This fight seems destined to go the distance (-300), but I'll find a pick with more value in this fight.

How To Bet Aldo
It's hard to trust Aldo at this point. His heart and fight IQ are still there, but his body is failing him at 38 years old. Aldo's takedown defense is still the best of all time, though he won't use one lick of that in a pure stand-up fight vs Zahabi in Montreal. While Aldo is still very strong and possesses some good zing on his strikes, he lacks the explosiveness to put guys down with vicious force.
I do not trust Aldo to pull this off, especially with an Aldo by decision bet at +100. That's ugly to me. I love this fight to go the distance (-300) as a chalky leg in a parlay, but I'm otherwise too untrusting of Aldo to recommend picking him in any capacity.
How To Bet Zahabi
Aldo (3.62 sig. strikes/min) and Zahabi (4.06 sig. strikes/min) throw at a very similar pace, but Zahabi's 71% strike defense outdoes Aldo's 60%. In a 15-minute point fight, I like Zahabi's chances to outland Aldo and also deliver more damage.
Zahabi's boxing has carried him to his last two decision wins, including a +575 cash over Javid Basharat in March 2024. Zahabi is the same age as Aldo but is clearly in his peak form with five straight wins.
I don't trust Aldo, and this will be a very close point fight. Count me in on Zahabi at a modest 1u.
Aldo vs Zahabi Betting Pick
I’m riding with Zahabi ML at +160 — he’s been the fresher and more voluminous striker of late. This one’s almost certainly going the distance, so toss that -300 prop in a parlay if you're feeling chalky.
