Caesars Foundation Donates $200,000 to the International Center for Responsible Gaming

Funding to Advance Research and Education on Responsible Play

As part of its ongoing initiatives in this area, the Caesars Foundation has awarded the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG) a $200,000 grant.

The funding will research and education programs that aim to reduce gambling-related harm and enhance responsible play initiatives worldwide.

This generous commitment from Caesars Foundation underscores their ongoing leadership in corporate responsibility and dedication to advancing the science of responsible gambling. Together, we are helping ensure that policies, treatment options, and prevention strategies are rooted in rigorous and independent scientific evidence.

The Caesars Foundation grant will fund a comprehensive range of ICRG programs this year, with $180,000 allocated to competitive research grants and education focused on topics such as the biological and psychological mechanisms of gambling, co-occurring mental health conditions, treatment innovation, public health messaging, that include the biological and psychological mechanisms of gambling, co-occurring mental health conditions, treatment innovation, public health messaging and the impact of gambling-related policies. 

The remaining $20,000 will help pay for the program of the 26th Annual ICRG Conference on Gambling and Addiction.

Caesars Foundation donations to the ICRG began in 2022, but before that, Caesars Entertainment had been a donor since 1997. 

The company celebrated 35 years of work in the area during Responsible Gaming Education Month last September. It was the first commercial casino company to address the challenges of problem gambling in the industry.

It is estimated that more than two million Americans live with gambling addiction, and that five million are experiencing gambling-related harms.
