NRFI Picks Today: Check Out Luzardo

It’s Tuesday, May 13, and we’re diving into today’s top MLB NRFI bets. I'm going with a plus-money play early in the evening, followed by a bet on two solid starters in my second play.

NRFI Pick Today: Brewers vs Guardians (+100 at Sportsbook)

Brewers vs Guardians Odds – 6:10 p.m. ET

This matchup offers a prime chance to back a scoreless opening inning at solid value (+100). The Guardians boast a 25-16 NRFI record, ranking fourth-best in the league (per our NRFI trends page) and have strung together six straight NRFIs heading into Tuesday. With their offense struggling and favorable pitching alignments, this wager stands out.

Cleveland’s starter, Logan Allen, has racked up five consecutive scoreless first innings after a rocky 1-1 start. In seven innings of work, he’s allowed just five hits and a single unearned run. That's nearly flawless. Meanwhile, Milwaukee’s Quinn Priester complements this play. Despite a 5.08 overall ERA, he’s been sharp early, posting a stellar 1.69 ERA across six first innings. Opponents have managed just a .583 OPS against him in those frames, reinforcing the case for this bet.

NRFI Pick Today: Cardinals vs Phillies (-120 at Sportsbook)

Cardinals vs Phillies Odds – Game Time: 6:45 p.m. ET

Sonny Gray has been dominant against the Phillies. Current Philadelphia hitters have amassed over 140 at-bats against him but are batting a meager .230/.301/.331 without any home runs. That level of success against a lineup this strong is rare and makes this an appealing pick. When Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber are each stuck in the 3-for-20 range, it's an easy decision to back this bet.

Of course, Gray is only one side of the equation. Luzardo, however, might be even more impressive. The lefty has posted a 2.11 ERA across eight starts this season and has allowed just two runs in the first inning so far (.628 OPS in those frames).
