Neto comes highly recommended on the MLB player props market heading into a west-coast showdown vs the Padres. Firstly, the young shortstop has cashed this OVER in 77% of games this season and eight of his last 10, including five total bases in yesterday's game vs SDP.
So, why now? Well, Neto's odds for a hit are slightly more digestible because he's up against ace righty Dylan Cease. The sportsbooks give a boost to every hitter's odds in this situation. But Neto is 1-for-2 lifetime vs Cease with a home run. That's a small sample, but it represents enough for a 1u investment in Neto's fortunes on Tuesday.
Addison Barger OVER 0.5 Total bases (-155 at Sportsbook)
On a similar note to Neto, Barger is hot right now, picking up a base hit in five straight contests during the Jays' west coast road trip. Barger always delivers a powerful hack at the dish, but with his timing now sorted, he's a high-upside bet. For now, the -155 is fine. While his HR prop at +560 is enticing, I need to see more success from Barger before investing.
