The 2025 MLB Cy Young odds are extremely tight as level of starting pitchers are seemingly at an all-time high right now. The NL Cy Young odds are much tighter than what we see in the AL Cy Young odds.
In the NL, Paul Skenes leads Cy Young odds at Sportsbook. In the AL, Tigers ace, Tarik Skubal, has pulled away from Red Sox lefty Garrett Crochet for chalk status.

AL Cy Young Odds Favorite: Tarik Skubal
The reigning AL Cy Young winner finds himself once again the betting favorite to repeat the feat, and in doing so would be the first back-to-back AL Cy Young winner since Pedro Martinez in 1999 and 2000.
In the early stages of the 2025 campaign, Skubal is holding a career-best ERA, WHIP, and a second-best K/9 rate. While all these signs point to the lefty to be well on track for more hardware, he's going to be chased in a heated race with the likes of Max Fried, Tyler Mahle, Hunter Brown, Kris Bubic, Nathan Eovaldi and Garrett Crochet each holding sub-2.00 ERAs through March and April.

NL Cy Young Odds Favorite: Paul Skenes
Paul Skenes has already established himself as the face of Pittsburgh’s rotation. As the 2025 season unfolds, the excitement lies in seeing how Skenes evolves with a full workload. If he continues to dazzle as expected, he’s poised to cement his status as the National League’s premier pitcher.

Making A Cy Young Futures Bet
Betting on an MLB Cy Young Award is a form of futures betting because you are making a pick based on an outcome determined at the end of the MLB regular season. The trophy is usually given out in mid-December and if you want to get a bigger payout, it’s best to lock in your bets sooner rather than later so you can take advantage of better odds. The closer it gets to the end of the season, the more the odds will change.

How To Read MLB Cy Young Odds
The above charts feature the odds for each top pitcher in the American League and National League. At your sportsbook of choice, the betting lines for the National League could look something like this:
Zack Wheeler +150
Blake Snell +160
Max Scherzer +190
This means that Wheeler is the favorite since he has the lowest odds and the highest chance of winning the prop, according to oddsmakers. If you were to bet $100 on Wheeler and he won, you would get a payout of $250 – your original $100 is returned along with your winnings of $150.
On the other hand, if you strongly believe that Blake Snell will shine in L.A., a winning $100 bet on him would yield $260 – your $100 comes back along with your prize of $160.
Our odds calculator will show you how much you’d win based on the odds and amount bet.
