The 2025 MLB Cy Young odds are extremely tight as level of starting pitchers are seemingly at an all-time high right now. The NL Cy Young odds are much tighter than what we see in the AL Cy Young odds.

The reigning AL Cy Young winner finds himself once again the betting favorite to repeat the feat, and in doing so would be the first back-to-back AL Cy Young winner since Pedro Martinez in 1999 and 2000. 

In the early stages of the 2025 campaign, Skubal is holding a career-best ERA, WHIP, and a second-best K/9 rate. While all these signs point to the lefty to be well on track for more hardware, he's going to be chased in a heated race with the likes of Max Fried, Tyler Mahle, Hunter Brown, Kris Bubic, Nathan Eovaldi and Garrett Crochet each holding sub-2.00 ERAs through March and April.
